Presentations

Presentations are for the benefit of members of Innovation & Technology although non-members are welcome to try one meeting before joining - or to join on the day.
Presentations are generally run on the first Monday of the month starting at 11.00 (members are requested to be present by 10.50) and given by an external speaker distinguished in his or her sphere of activity (with a link to computing in some form or other).
Most Presentations are held in the Finlay Suite but changes will be mentioned in the regular Innovation & Technology newsletter which also contains the link to view recordings of earlier presentations.

Workshops

The Innovation & Technology Interest Grouo runs regular workshops (usually given by Committee members) for group members. Workshops cover a variety of topics of interest to members; topics generally are focussed on security (of devices and data), how-to, software (application and operating system), and hardware; some workshops focus on a particular sector (such as Windows or Apple) whilst others apply to all devices.
The workshops generally are run on the third Monday of each month starting at 1100 (with a 'chat' session from 1045 and Q&A following) - changes will be mentioned in the regular Innovation & Technology newsletter which also contains the link to view recordings of earlier workshops.
Each session lasts from 30 to 45 minutes and a recording will usually be available to view again from the members' web portal.
Details of the location and/or Zoom link for each Workshop will be sent to members a few days before each event.
Ideas or requests for workshop topics can be sent to the organiser: Jeff Maynard.

Watch again

The Innovation & Technology committee strives to record all talks (Workshops and Presentations) so they can be watched again on-line if you missed the live event (or if you just want to remind yourself of a particular point).
Links to the recordings of prior Workshops and Presentations are provided in the regular Innovation & Technology newsletter.

Innovation & Technology

Open to all members of Phyllis Court Club for a nominal £10 per year, Innovation & Technology is focussed on helping members better understand their computing devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, smartwatches and more).
Innovation & Technology has regular outside speakers bringing expertise and knowledge on some of the more interesting aspects of computing; click or tap 'Presentations' in the Menu above to see the programme for the next six months or so.

In addition to the Presentations, the Group has regular Workshops given by members of the committee and designed to broaden members' understanding of their devices and how to keep them (and their data) safe and secure. Click or tap the 'Workshops' in the menu above to see the programme for the next six months or so.
The Group runs a Helpdesk with members invited to submit requests for help and/or questions regarding any aspect of computing. Each request is passed to the committee member most able to answer. The email address for help requests is published in the monthly Innovation & Technology newsletter. Click or tap 'Help' in ther menu above to learn more about the Group's help programme (the Help page includes a simple form to request help).
